Brompton Bicycle Limited, a London, U.K.-based company that specializes in manufacturing high-quality folding bicycles and related accessories, has knocked it out of the park yet again by introducing 12-speed folding bicycles in order to allow for at truly exceptional range of riding modalities.
The ‘Explore 12-speed’ folding bicycles actually manage to double the number of gears available when compared to past iterations of the company’s folding bikes.
What’s great about these dozen-speed two-wheelers is the fact that they were not introduced as part of an unfortunate compromise in the frame and weight of the bikes. This is made possible thanks to the inclusion of a lightweight four-speed derailleur. Elsewhere, a robust three-speed geared hub, when combined with the offerings of the derailleur, allows for as many as a dozen gears.
