Tern folding bike Flight Suit & Samsonite case for foreign travel with your bike

Taking a 20-inch Tern folding bike abroad means packing it into standard luggage, and that's where the Flight Suit and Samsonite case combination comes in. This is a complete travel solution designed to keep your folded bike safe during flights and ground transport. The 9-piece Flight Suit kit wraps around your bike with custom-fitted pads and protectors, whilst the hard shell Samsonite case provides the outer protection needed for baggage handling.

The Flight Suit itself uses durable 240D nylon construction bonded to 5mm dual-layer padding throughout. You get a large suitcase pad that forms the base, then a seat-post sock, pedal bag, handlebar post sock, two handlebar socks, frame dropout protector, fork dropout protector, and a dropout sock. Each component is sized specifically for the Tern's geometry, so nothing shifts around inside the case during transit. The instructions are printed directly onto the suitcase pad, making packing straightforward enough that you're not fumbling through papers at the airport.

The Samsonite Flight Hard Shell 81/32 suitcase is included with the kit. It features free-running heavy duty caster wheels and a three-digit combination lock built in. The case has "Bicycle in Transit" signage on the front and rear, which flags to baggage handlers that there's something fragile inside. The case is in very good condition, though it does carry some cosmetic scratches from normal baggage handling use. One thing to note: there's no TSA lock fitted, which is required for USA travel, but TSA-lockable luggage straps are readily available from travel goods shops and work with the existing lock mechanism.
