Cresswell Engineering of Birmingham (developers and manufacturers of the Fold-It) was bought by Pashley in the late 1990s and, for a short time, they badged it ‘Brilliant Bicycles’ before it became a mainstream Pashley model. The Fold-It was a very early Y-frame designed bike and a gold award winner at the 1996 National Cycle Show at the National Exhibition Centre. This design makes for a very stable machine, handling pretty much like a larger-wheeled, non-folding bike - ‘twitchy’ it is definitely not! I have replaced a few components with lighter weight alternatives and, with the Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres fitted, it makes an excellent cycle for various types of surface - especially light trail-riding. The bike comes with its original rear rack and mudguards. The hub gear and drum brakes (all Sturmey Archer) reduce the need for frequent maintenance and adjustment, as well as making the bike a lot easier to keep clean. I am in the process of reducing my collection of small-wheelers, and am now selling this one - albeit very reluctantly. It has had one previous owner from new, and is in unbelievably good order mechanically and cosmetically. Collection only from Wendover, Buckinghamshire. Happy to answer any questions.
