raleigh stowaway folding bike bicycle bikepacking touring

The Raleigh Stowaway is a British folding bike built for practical everyday riding and urban commuting. With its 20-inch wheels and compact fold, it's designed to slip into tight spaces – whether that's a cupboard, the boot of a car, or alongside you on a train. The blue finish is classic Raleigh, and the build quality reflects the brand's traditional approach to bicycle construction.

At this wheel size, the Stowaway strikes a balance between portability and ride feel. The 20-inch tyres make the bike responsive around town and contribute to the tight fold when you need to stow it away, though they do require a bit more pedalling effort to maintain momentum on longer flat stretches compared to bikes with larger wheels. Day to day, the bike handles the everyday demands of urban cycling without fuss – short commutes, errands, and the occasional longer ride all sit within its wheelhouse.

This is the kind of bike that suits people who need something that doesn't demand much space or attention when they're not riding it. If you're cycling to the station, folding it up to carry onto the train, then unfolding it again at the other end, the Stowaway does exactly what it says on the tin. It's practical, unfussy, and built to last – which is what you'd expect from Raleigh.
