Ecosmo 16" Wheel Lightweight Alloy Folding Kids Bicycle Bike 6sp Shimano
The Ecosmo is a folding bicycle designed for children aged five to ten, built around a lightweight alloy frame that folds down small enough to fit in most car boots. This makes it practical for families who want to take a bike on holiday or carry it alongside other gear without taking up much space. The 16-inch wheels are sized appropriately for younger riders, striking a balance between manoeuvrability and rolling efficiency on typical paths and roads.
The bike uses a six-speed Shimano derailleur system, which gives enough range for gentle hills and varied terrain without overwhelming a developing rider. The drivetrain is straightforward and reliable, allowing kids to focus on building confidence rather than struggling with complexity. Up front you get a Schwalbe Road Cruiser tyre, whilst the rear runs a Kenda, both suited to mixed surfaces from tarmac to light trails. The Selle saddle provides a comfortable base for the riding position.
Braking is handled by a mechanical disc brake system at the front, which offers reliable stopping power. The frame is prepared to accept a rear disc brake if you want to upgrade one later, though it doesn't come fitted as standard to keep the overall weight down. One thing worth noting is that one of the rear spokes was out of true when packed, but a replacement spoke is included in the box so you can sort it yourself. The bike arrives with the wheels detached, so you'll need to refit them before the first ride, which is straightforward work if you're comfortable with basic bike assembly.
