Dahon Speed 6 Folding Bike 20" Wheels (2002) - Blue, Good condition
£99.50 GBP
Selling a classic Dahon Speed 6 folding bicycle in good, fully working condition.
The 2002 Dahon Speed 6 (often designated as the Speed D6) is a classic, highly durable folding bicycle built primarily with a chromoly steel frame rather than aluminum, giving it a notably smoother and more forgiving ride quality over urban potholes. Perfect for train commuters, caravans, campsite, CenterParcs, or city riding. For a vintage folder from this era, it is highly regarded by enthusiasts for its structural longevity.
Key specifications of the 2002 model;
* Frame Material: "4130 Chromoly" steel frame featuring Dahon’s classic mid-frame latch mechanism.
* Drivetrain: 6-speed Shimano Tourney rear derailleur paired with a twist grip-shifter.
* Gearing: A large 52-tooth front chainring matched to a 14-28 tooth rear freewheel, allowing the bike to achieve reasonable top speeds despite its small wheels.
* Wheelset: 20-inch alloy rims laced with stainless steel spokes.
* Stopping Power: Alloy V-brakes.
* Portability: Weighs roughly 13 kg, and folds down in about 15 seconds into a compact package. Hinge mechanism locks tightly with zero wobble.
* Extras Included: Fitted front and rear mudguards, plus a sturdy rear luggage rack. Working kickstand. Original instruction manual. Two spare inner tubes.
Condition: Recently serviced and ready to ride. New brake cables, and new inner tubes just fitted. Some small cracks in tyres due to lack of use - may need to be replaced at some point. Has a small amount of cosmetic surface rust consistent with age, but structurally sound.
