Dahon Jifo 16 Folding Bike Lightweight

The Dahon Jifo is a lightweight folding bike built around a 16-inch wheel design and single-speed hub gear setup, making it straightforward to ride and maintain. The aluminium frame keeps the overall weight down, which matters when you're carrying the bike folded or lifting it onto public transport. The black finish is understated and practical for daily use.

Day to day, the Jifo handles city cycling with the simplicity that comes from a single gear and hub transmission. The flat handlebar puts you in an upright riding position, which works well for urban traffic and visibility. With 16-inch tyres, the bike is nimble through congested streets and responsive to steering inputs, though you'll feel the trade-off on longer flat stretches where bigger wheels would maintain momentum more easily. The grip shifter operates the hub gear without fuss, and there's very little to adjust or maintain on the drivetrain.

This folding bike suits people who need a portable second bike for commuting, those mixing cycling with trains or buses, or anyone living in a small flat or office without space for a full-size frame. The lightweight construction and compact fold make it practical to carry up stairs or store in tight spaces. Riders tackling steep hills regularly or covering long distances might find the single speed limiting, but for short urban journeys and the portability that matters when you can't leave a bike locked outside, the Jifo delivers straightforward cycling without complication.
