Dahon Hit Folding Bike - 20" - UPGRADED - Schwalbe 365s / Alloy Pedals / Saddle
This is a Dahon Hit folding bike with a 20-inch wheel size, and it's been significantly upgraded from the stock specification with over £150 worth of better components. The Dahon Hit is the most robust folding bike in the Dahon range, built with an aluminium frame that uses a lattice forged hinge and a Deltec reinforcement cable system. That cable setup allows the frame to handle riders up to 137kg, which is considerably more than you'd typically expect from a standard folding bike. The bike folds in around 15 seconds, making it practical for commuters who need to combine cycling with public transport or store it in a small space.
The frame is paired with six gears via a derailleur system, which handles urban hills and bridges without fuss. The wheels are 20-inch lightweight aluminium rims fitted with Schwalbe Marathon 365 tyres, which are proper all-season commuter tyres with serious puncture protection and reflective sidewalls for visibility. These aren't cheap rubber—they're designed to grip wet or greasy city roads and keep you moving whatever the weather throws at you. The bike sits on alloy pedals rather than the basic plastic ones that come standard on most folding bikes, which means better grip for your shoes and stiffer power transfer when you're pushing through traffic.
The upgrades extend to comfort too. The saddle is a premium Dahon comfort version, noticeably better than the thin stock seat, and makes longer rides or weekend trips genuinely more pleasant. The grips are Dahon ergonomic ones, which replace the hard plastic originals with something that actually feels good in your hands over distance. Beyond the main upgrades, the bike comes with practical features for commuting: full-length mudguards keep spray off your clothes, there's a rear pannier rack with bungee cords for carrying stuff, a kickstand so you're not propping it against walls, and a bottle cage. The brakes are v-brakes, which work reliably in wet conditions and are straightforward to maintain. The bike is in excellent condition, kept indoors, with a clean chain and drivetrain that's ready to ride immediately from collection.
