Dahon Ciao Unisex Folding Bike 8 Gears

This Dahon Ciao is a purple aluminium folding bike with a step-through frame, designed for everyday urban riding and easy storage. Dahon's patented folding system is one of the most straightforward on the market, and this particular bike folds down compactly enough to stash in a cupboard, under a desk, or to carry onto public transport without too much fuss. The 20-inch wheels strike a practical balance between manoeuvrability in tight spaces and enough momentum to keep moving on longer commutes.

The bike is equipped with 8-speed Shimano hub gears, which is a genuine advantage over derailleur systems. Hub gears sit inside the rear wheel hub and need far less maintenance—no chain adjustment, no cable tweaking, and they work smoothly regardless of weather or how muddy the roads get. The step-through frame makes mounting and dismounting straightforward, particularly useful if you're hopping on and off during a commute or wearing everyday clothes. Stopping power comes from V-brakes, which are reliable and easy to maintain, and they work well in wet conditions once you're used to modulating them properly.

Lighting is sorted with a front dynamo light and a rear battery light, so you're covered for commuting outside daylight hours without relying on charging. The tyres hold pressure and the brakes are in good working order. The bike has seen some use but very little mileage, so there's plenty of life left in it. This is a straightforward, honest commuter that gets the job done without complications. Collection only from Rochester or Folkestone, cash on collection.
