Dahon Ciao I3 Folding Bike 3-speed Low Step Through Frame Excellent Condition

This Dahon Ciao I3 is a folding bike in excellent condition and happens to be from the brand's special 30th anniversary edition, making it something of a rarity on the secondhand market. Dahon built their reputation on patented folding systems, and this model delivers the practicality you'd expect from the brand in a compact package that folds down in seconds with all mechanisms working smoothly.

The low step-through frame makes getting on and off straightforward, which matters more than it sounds when you're cycling in everyday clothes or need to move quickly between riding and walking. The 20-inch aluminium frame keeps weight reasonable without feeling flimsy, and the white finish is clean and practical for urban use. Power comes from a 3-speed internal gear hub, which means you can change gear while standing still at traffic lights and the whole system requires almost no maintenance compared to a derailleur setup. That's genuinely useful for a commute bike or everyday runabout.

The spec sheet includes V-brakes for stopping power, and Dahon fitted this model with a kickstand, mudguards, and a rear luggage rack from the factory, so you've got the essentials already sorted without needing to hunt down accessories. The mudguards keep spray off your clothes and bags, the rack handles shopping or a small pannier, and the kickstand means you're not leaning the bike against walls or your leg every time you stop.

There's minor damage to the seat covering visible in the photos, but mechanically the bike is sound and ready to ride. For anyone after a simple, no-fuss folding bike suited to short urban journeys and occasional public transport use, this is a solid find.
