The Brompton M6L is a British-made steel folding bike designed for urban commuting, with electric assistance built in to take the effort out of city cycling. This is an ex-demo model that's been through the workshop and checked over, bearing the inevitable marks and scuffs from its previous life but in good working order. It's ready to ship via next-day delivery on UK mainland weekdays.

The heart of this bike is a 36-volt battery that clips in and out with one click, giving a riding range of 20 to 45 miles depending on terrain and how much you use the motor. An LED display shows battery level as you ride, and the standard charger gets you from empty to full in four hours. The battery comes with the Essential Bag, a dedicated carry case that also has a 1.5-litre pocket for other kit and mounts directly to the gloss black frame.

Mechanically, you get a 6-speed gear system that handles the variety of gradients you'll encounter in city riding, paired with the upright M-type Brompton handlebars that are comfortable for urban stop-start cycling. The tyres are Schwalbe Marathon Racer rubber, which offers decent grip and solid puncture protection for city streets and occasional rougher surfaces. A 40 Lux Busch & Müller AVY LED front light and Spanninga solo XE rear light keep you visible in low light, while L-shaped mudguards protect you from road spray.

Like any Brompton, this one folds laterally into a compact package suited to storing in a flat, office, or carrying onto trains and buses. The telescopic seatpost adjusts to suit different riders, and the steel frame construction is characteristic of Brompton's approach to durable, repairable bikes. The electric motor means you arrive less exhausted than you would on a standard folding bike, making longer commutes or hillier routes more manageable without needing a separate e-bike that's awkward to transport.
