The bike uses Brompton's classic compact fold, collapsing down to a self-standing package that fits easily under a desk, into a train luggage rack, or stored in a flat without taking up much floor space. The steel frame is built to last, and the fold mechanism has become reliable through careful use.

The M-type mid handlebars give an upright, relaxed riding position that's become Brompton's most versatile daily commuter setup. You sit fairly upright without being stretched out, which keeps neck and shoulder strain low during stop-start city riding. The 6-speed gearing combines internal hub gears with external derailleur assistance, working smoothly across town roads and gentle hills without requiring constant attention. The L specification includes factory-fitted front and rear mudguards, which means the bike handles wet weather without needing to add extras later.
