This low mileage leisure used mid 1998/99 built Brompton M5R folding bicycle remains in what can only be described as very good original condition aside from some expected age related patina/scratches from storage and discolouration on both the silver plastic mudguards where they often whiten in patches not broken or cracked. The silver bare metal parts are now tarnished but nothing is seized or stiff all been kept well lubricated so smooth in operation.

The original paint finish still look very shiny throughout (not rusted like most of these can be around the lower rear triangle) and with the usual Paint touch up’s often due to incorrectly folding early on in ownership and main crossbar from getting on & off.

Both wheel rims remain free of any heavy wear or grooves, the same with both tyres having deep new tread remaining, fully inflated with no splits or perishing, checked over/adjusted, and all in fully functional excellent working order, having smooth working Caliper brakes, with the 5 gears using Sturmey Archer Sprinter hub shifting smoothly between all the gears using the tried and tested SA thumb type shifter.

This Brompton is fitted with:

Brompton rear luggage rack with bungee straps.

Front frame fitted Luggage Block.

Extended height seatpost (can swap this over for a standard length free of charge).

Ping bell and reflectors all round.

Note: the original bottle dynamo lighting has been removed in the past leaving just the light units which no longer work.

The later Brompton saddle is perfectly comfortable/useable but does have some cover damage which is sound but touched in with black paint to look nicer. Any generic brand saddle can be fitted same as the handlebar grips.
