BROMPTON G LINE WITH ROLLER FRAME 8 SPEED FOLDING BIKE 2026 IN SPACE BLACK
The Brompton G Line is a British-made steel folding bike designed for riders who want full-size bike handling without compromising on portability. Built in London with a hand-brazed steel frame and finished in space black, it's engineered to fold down to 730 x 690 x 402mm, small enough to fit on trains, in car boots, or stored in tight spaces like spare rooms and one-person tents. The fold takes under 20 seconds and uses Brompton's established hinge system, so if you've folded a Brompton before, the G Line works the same way.
This is the first Brompton to use 20-inch wheels, which shifts the ride feel closer to a full-size bike than the brand's traditional 16-inch designs. The geometry is new across the range, with stack and reach measurements that vary by frame size (Small, Medium, or Large, suited to riders from 152cm to 198cm). The aluminium fork features mounting bosses for racks and mudguards, and the steel main frame comes with water bottle bosses on the stem, so you can add a bottle, toolkit storage inside the frame, rear rack, and full mudguards without modification.
For gears, the G Line uses Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub gearing with a 54-tooth chainring, giving a 307% gear ratio that covers city riding and longer mixed-terrain trips. The shifter is a Brompton ergonomic trigger mechanism that's intuitive to use. Braking comes via Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 140mm rotors mounted on flatmount, which offer consistent stopping power in wet weather and on varied surfaces. The tyres are Schwalbe G-One Allround 54mm in width, tubeless-ready, and suited to both tarmac and light off-road use.
The wheelset uses 20-inch Brompton rims with the Shimano Alfine hub built into the rear wheel. Comfort details include a Brompton Superlight saddle and ergonomic handlebar grips, with seatpost options varying by frame size: standard on Small, extended on Medium, and telescopic on Large. Wide platform pedals have a quick-release left pedal for easier folding. The complete bike weighs approximately 14.9kg in Medium size with the rear roller frame rack fitted. This configuration keeps the bike ready for daily use while maintaining the compact fold that makes Brompton bikes practical for commuters and urban riders mixing cycling with public transport or storage constraints.
