Brompton G Line 8 speed Folding Bike
This is a Brompton G Line folding bike in green, built around a steel frame with Brompton's characteristic lateral fold design. The bike is in excellent condition and has covered no more than 20 miles in around a year of ownership. It comes equipped with 20-inch wheels, which are larger than the standard Brompton size and give a slightly different ride feel compared to the more common 16-inch versions. The tyres are Schwalbe gravel units, so they're comfortable on rougher surfaces and handle mixed terrain well beyond just smooth tarmac.
The drivetrain uses 8-speed hub gears, which means the mechanism is sealed inside the rear wheel and requires minimal maintenance compared to derailleur systems. Gear changes happen via the handlebar lever, and the eight speeds give reasonable range for tackling hills and maintaining momentum on flatter stretches. Stopping power comes from hydraulic disc brakes, which offer reliable modulation and work well in wet conditions without the fading you can get from older rim brake designs. The frame includes a roller brake and full mudguards as standard, so the bike is set up for real-world riding rather than requiring extra accessories.
This particular bike also comes with the Brompton rechargeable lights and a front-mount G Line bag. The lights integrate neatly into the frame and fold away when the bike is packed down, whilst the bag attaches to the front and sits against the fold, making it practical for carrying small items during commutes. Day to day, the larger 20-inch wheels roll a bit more smoothly than smaller folding bike wheels, though they do make the fold slightly bulkier than entry-level Bromptons. This is a working folding bike suited to commuters who use public transport regularly or need to store a bike in tight spaces.
