Brompton Folding Bike 3-Speed: c.2016

This Brompton folding bike from around 2016 is a British-made steel frame in grey, kept in great condition and rarely used in recent years. The 16-inch wheels and compact fold make it a practical urban commuter that tucks away neatly when you're not riding, fitting easily into tight storage spaces or under a desk at work. The steel frame gives the bike solid feel and durability, which is typical of Brompton's no-nonsense approach to design.

The 3-speed hub gear system uses side-pull caliper brakes and keeps things mechanically straightforward. There's no derailleur to adjust or maintain, and the hub gears shift smoothly whether you're stationary or rolling. This makes the bike reliable for everyday riding around town, handling gentle hills and the varied pace of stop-start urban cycling without fuss. The fold itself works with Brompton's familiar lateral action, reducing the bike to a compact package that's manageable to carry up stairs or onto a train.

The grey colour scheme is understated and practical, hiding dirt better than lighter shades whilst maintaining the classic Brompton look. Having sat unused for a while, a bike like this is ready to get back into regular use with basic maintenance such as checking tyre pressure and cable tension. It's the kind of folding bike that suits commuters mixing cycling with public transport, or anyone needing genuine storage versatility without sacrificing ride quality for daily journeys.
