Brompton Folding Bike 2-Speed, Black

This is a Brompton folding bike in black, a British-made steel-framed compact folder that's seen minimal use since it was serviced by Evan Cycle. The bike has been checked over and comes in good condition, with just the occasional small scratch that may not show clearly in photographs. What you see in the pictures is what you're getting.

The frame is steel throughout, which gives the Brompton its characteristic strength and rigidity in such a compact package. It folds down neatly for storage or transport, making it ideal if you need to carry it onto public transport or keep it in a small space. The 16-inch wheels are typical of Brompton's design, keeping the folded size tight and manageable whilst still riding reasonably well around town.

Gear-wise, this model is fitted with 3-speed hub gears, which work via a simple twist-grip shifter. Hub gears are low-maintenance and sealed from the elements, so there's no derailleur to knock out of adjustment or cables to stretch. The side-pull caliper brakes are straightforward and reliable for urban riding, offering decent stopping power without needing constant adjustment.

A Brompton like this works well for commuters who combine cycling with train or bus journeys, or anyone living in a flat with limited bike storage. The upright riding position gives good visibility in traffic, and it handles the constant stopping and starting of city riding without complaint. Since this one has had minimal use and a proper service, it's ready to slot straight into daily urban cycling.
