Brompton Electric C Line - 4 Speed - Mid Handlebar Black Folding Bike

The Brompton Electric C Line is a British-made folding bike designed for urban commuting and everyday city riding. Built from steel with a compact fold, it reduces down to a size small enough to carry onto public transport or store in a tight space. The 16-inch wheels keep the bike nimble in traffic and contribute to that pocket-sized packability, though they do need a bit more effort to maintain momentum on longer flat stretches compared to larger wheels.

The mid handlebar setup puts you in an upright riding position, which gives good visibility when navigating busy streets and filtering through traffic. The four-speed hub gears handle the undulating terrain of most UK towns without fuss, and the side-pull caliper brakes are straightforward to maintain and adjust. The electric motor takes the edge off pedaling effort, which makes commuting less of a physical commitment on days when you're tired or running late, or when you're carrying a heavy load up a hill.

Day to day, the C Line works well for the stop-start rhythm of city cycling. The fold becomes intuitive after a few goes, and the compact size means you can genuinely take it with you rather than leaving it locked outside. The black finish is practical—it hides dirt better than lighter colours and gives the bike a clean, understated look. This is a machine suited to commuters who mix cycling with other transport, or anyone working from home a couple of days a week and needing reliable transport without a car. It comes brand new with a five-year warranty from Brompton.
