Brompton C Line Folding Bike Matcha Green Mid Bar
This is an ex-display Brompton C Line electric folding bike in matcha green, unridden and in excellent condition. It's been freshly serviced and is ready to ship via TNT Next Day delivery on UK mainland weekdays. Originally priced at £2999 when new, this British-made steel-frame folding bike combines the compact practicality Brompton is known for with electric assistance that makes urban riding significantly easier.
The C Line electric folding bike uses Brompton's three-part fold to transform from a rideable bike into a package measuring 645mm high by 565mm wide by 270mm deep in around 20 seconds. This compact size means you can carry it onto trains, buses, and underground services without needing to leave it locked outside. The frame is precision-drawn heat-treated steel tubing with hand brazing and selected auto-brazed joints on the main frame, while the rear frame uses hand-brazed cold-formed micro-alloy steel tubing. The fork is reinforced specifically for electric use. At 14.5kg without battery or 17.4kg with the battery installed, it's still light enough to manage on stairs or into car boots, though noticeably heavier than non-electric Bromptons.
The drivetrain features a six-speed setup using Brompton's wide-range system—a three-speed internal gear hub in the rear wheel paired with two external chainrings of 13 and 16 teeth, giving a 300 percent gear range. This combination handles hills better than older Brompton models whilst keeping the rear wheel compact. Shifting is handled by Brompton's trigger shifters, and the 50-tooth chainring on the 6061 forged aluminium crank is protected by an integrated chainguard, so your trousers stay clean. The pedals fold on the left side and remain fixed on the right, and Brompton's chain pusher keeps the chain aligned during folding.
The electric system centres on a 250W brushless DC motor in the front wheel hub that provides assistance up to 25 kph. The motor uses a Smart Pedal Assist that engages smoothly when you need it, rather than being constantly active. The 300Wh 36V lithium-ion battery pack is detachable and weighs 2.9kg including its carrying bag, which makes charging genuinely convenient—simply remove it and plug into any regular household socket. A full charge takes four hours with the standard 2A charger included, or two hours if you add Brompton's optional 4A fast charger separately. The battery also has an LED display and includes a 5V 1.5A USB port for charging portable devices while you ride.
The wheels use 349 x 35C Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres, which are puncture-resistant with reflective sidewalls for visibility. They run on Schrader valves and are fitted to single-wall rims. The riding position is upright thanks to the extended chromoly steel seatpost finished in chrome, which suits riders with an inside leg up to 35 inches or 89cm. The saddle is Brompton's standard design with an integrated carry handle and mounts for a rear light and saddle bag.
Practical details include mudguards with rubberised flaps to keep road spray off, and integrated lighting powered by the main battery—a 40 Lux Busch & Müller AVY LED front lamp and rear lamp that work without needing separate batteries. The lock-on grips use soft-compound rubber adhered to an engineered core for comfort on longer rides. A composite seat clamp and rear frame clip finish in matt black. The bike comes with an essentials bag offering 1.5 litres of storage, and a 20L city bag is available separately if you need more carrying capacity.
Brompton provides iOS and Android apps for the electric system, letting you monitor battery level, assist mode, and riding data on your phone. The bike ships complete with a Brompton pump featuring a flexible hose that works with both Schrader and Presta valves, so you can maintain tyre pressure on the road.
