Brompton C line 4 Speed Cloud Metallic Mid - M4L - RRP £1509 - World Delivery

The Brompton C Line 4-speed is a British-made steel folding bike designed for urban commuting and daily transport. Built with an all-steel frame, forks, and the newly introduced advanced rear triangle, it folds down to 585mm wide by 565mm tall by 270mm deep—compact enough to carry onto trains, store in an office corner, or wheel through a crowded station. The mid-rise handlebars, known as the M type, offer a balanced riding position that sits between upright and dropped, keeping you visible in traffic without straining your back on longer commutes.

The Cloud Metallic finish runs across the entire frame, handlebar stem, forks, and rear triangle, creating a cohesive look with black decals and matching detailing. The 4-speed derailleur gearing uses an integrated shifter on the left side of the bars and works with Brompton's advanced chain and four rear sprockets, giving you enough range for rolling urban terrain without the maintenance demands of a hub gear. The left pedal folds away to keep the package tidy when collapsed, whilst the right pedal stays fixed. A derailleur chain tensioner keeps everything running smoothly through the fold and unfold cycle.

The wheels are the classic Brompton 16-inch size with double-wall rims, 28 spokes front and rear, and bolt-through hubs that are built to handle daily use. They come wrapped in Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres, which offer low rolling resistance and solid puncture protection for urban riding—useful when you're navigating city streets and the odd bit of rougher ground. The wheels feature black hubs and rims with silver spokes, and the tyres include reflective sidewalls for visibility. Schrader valves make pumping up straightforward at any petrol station.

You get black advanced mudguards as standard, so the bike handles wet weather without spraying you with road grime. The C Line frame comes with a carrier block already fitted to the fork, meaning you can add Brompton's range of front luggage bags without affecting how the bike rides. The new advanced roller wheels help keep the folded bike stable when you set it down, preventing it from tipping unexpectedly. There's no rear rack fitted as standard, though one can be added separately if you need rear carrying capacity.

The standard seatpost is designed for riders with an inside leg measurement up to 33 inches and comes in black. The Brompton standard 147mm saddle attaches via an adjustable Pentaclip and includes a fixing point for rear lights like the Cateye or Brompton Be Seen. A saddle height insert is included in the box, though Brompton recommends waiting a few rides before fitting it to let you settle into the bike's geometry. Front and rear reflectors come as part of the package, and the new advanced suspension block at the rear triangle works with the folding action to manage the ride quality.

This version of the C Line is brand new and unused. It suits commuters who need to mix cycling with public transport, work in compact office spaces, or live in flats where bike storage is tight. The 4-speed gearing handles moderate urban hills without feeling sluggish on flat stretches, and the mid-rise bars keep you comfortable on regular daily routes. For riders covering longer distances or tackling steep gradients regularly, a higher-spec model might be worth considering, but for genuine day-to-day portability and reliability, this is a well-proven package.
