Brompton Bike extensively modified for touring

This owned from new Bromption has been extensively modified to be an expedition bike. It has only had light use as such and is in excellent condition. Please refer to the photo gallery to see the modifications referred to.

1) The rear dropouts have been cold set to 130 mm to accept a standard hub.

 2) It has a new 16 inch rear wheel with a Shimano Tiagra hub, Sun CR18 32 spoke rim, Shimano 8 sp 11 - 32 cassette, and has Schwalbe Kojak 16 in x 1.25 in tyres front and rear.

 3) The rear mech is Shimano Claris 8 sp with Rapid fire 8 sp handlebar trigger control

 4) The cranks are Litepro with 52 T chainring and q/r metal road type pedals

 5 A lightweight aluminium rear rack is fitted with four 60 mm diameter ‘Easy’ Wheels for easy rolling when the bike is folded.

 6) The Deda Piega drop bars are fitted with Shimano brake levers. The handlebars are clamped using a q/r lever to enable them to be repositioned when the bike is folded.

 7) It has a Venec Road type saddle

 8) Note that this modified bike needs careful folding. When the rear wheel triangle is pivoted forward the gear must first be put on the largest inner sprocket. Then the chain must be hooked up with the elastic ‘bungee cord’ on the rack to take up the chain slack as shown in the photos.
