Purchased by me new in 2013, this beautiful Brompton has been used only in good weather for occasional summer-time trips into Leicester City Centre from my home close to a tarmac-surfaced disused railway line (the Great Central Way). The round trip is approximately 8 miles, so I estimate that the bike has only completed about 150 miles in total. It has been stored in our home in an under-stairs dry environment and I have carried out full lubrication and cleaning each Spring. 

Now approaching 72 years of age, I have decided to now let this eye-catchingly splendid piece of engineering go to someone who will make fuller use of it.

The specification includes;

6-speed 'standard' gearing (33" - 99")
H-TYPE stem and handle bars (better for upright touring)
Front & Rear Shimano Hub Dynamo lights
Black front mudguard
Standard suspension
Schwalbe Marathon tyres
Brooks B17 Special leather saddle with copper rivets

'S' Bag Set (black-flap version) - this is the ideal size for general use

Full cover for bike when folded

Condition-wise, the only marks of note are some small scratches to the black bottom rail on the left side (see photograph). This is from an occasion when I (stupidly) forgot to fold the pedal up on that side when folding the bike itself. I imagine that a car paint touch-in stick would rectify these, but I will not try to hide them myself before selling.

To replicate this bike now from the latest Brompton range I estimate would cost very close to £1,700. And that would be for a bike with only 4 gears and limited paint colour-ways.

I am reluctant to ship this lovely bike so would ask for the purchaser to collect from my home on the outskirts of Leicester city, 7 minutes from junction 21 of the M1/M69
