Black DAHON 'JACK' Folding Hybrid Road Bike With Rear Rack

The Black Dahon Jack is a folding hybrid bike designed for everyday commuting and practical urban cycling. Dahon's patented folding system makes it easy to store and carry, which is particularly useful if you're combining cycling with public transport or need to keep your bike in a small space. The aluminium frame keeps weight down without sacrificing durability, and the 20-inch frame size suits most adults regardless of whether you prefer a more upright or neutral riding position.

The 26-inch wheels give you decent momentum and roll over urban debris better than smaller wheel sizes, whilst the flat handlebar keeps you upright for visibility in traffic. The 7-speed derailleur gears cover everyday terrain well – gentle hills, flat commutes, and the odd steeper stretch are all manageable. Shifting is straightforward with the grip shifter, which most riders find intuitive and reliable over time. V-brakes front and rear provide solid stopping power in dry and wet conditions, though they do need occasional cable adjustment as the bike ages.

Practically speaking, the rear rack means you can carry a pannier, rucksack, or shopping without needing to add extra luggage gear. The kickstand keeps the bike upright when you're locked up, and the reflectors help with visibility when you're riding in low light. These aren't flashy additions, but they're the kind of details that make a commuter bike actually work in real life rather than just sitting in your garage.

This bike works well for commuters who want something straightforward and robust, particularly if you're new to cycling and want to avoid complicated maintenance. It's equally suited to riders who value practicality over performance, or anyone who simply needs a reliable folder that won't let them down on daily journeys.
