Bike Friday Folding Silk Custom Features 11 Speed Improved Fold Hill Climber

Bike Fridays are well known for having been used on some major cycling trips, many in the US. So their build quality is legendary. They do not fold quickly, if you want a bike for regular commuting into London buy a Brompton. I have taken this on a train for the occasional trip or put it in the boot of a car so the fold size is relatively compact for a 20" bike.

I have many other bikes and for various health and other issues I have used this very little since it was re-built. The fold is relatively clumsy compared with a 16" Brompton but the ride is far superior and with 11 speeds and a 46T sprocket it will go up pretty much anything. Most Bike Fridays have a removable steering post, which can be a bit of a pain hanging loose so I fitted a socket for this to plug into. It also has a lock to stop the front wheel swinging around when folded. There are re-engineered rear drop-outs which are more substantial than the original and give slightly better tyre clearance. The removable high quality pedals are double sided so you can clip in.

The frame was stripped and powder coated for me. There are a couple of scratches on it.
