Bickerton Portable Bike, Junction 1607

The Bickerton Junction 1607 is a compact folding bike designed for anyone who needs a practical urban commuter that doesn't take up much space. The aluminium frame folds down to 37cm x 79cm x 70cm in around 10 seconds and, importantly, stands stable when folded—something that can't be taken for granted with folding bikes. At 12.4kg, it's light enough to carry or store without becoming a chore, and the fold mechanism is straightforward enough that you'll get faster at it each time.

The 20-inch wheels keep the bike nimble and contribute to the compact folded size, making it well suited to short urban journeys and mixed commuting where you might combine cycling with train or bus travel. The aluminium frame keeps weight down without sacrificing durability, and the seven-speed Shimano derailleur gears handle typical urban terrain comfortably. Mudguards are fitted as standard, so you're not adding bits on later, and the front light is USB rechargeable while the rear runs on battery, keeping you visible in low light without needing to fiddle with disposable batteries.

This bike works well for adults anywhere from 4ft 8" to 6ft 3", with a maximum weight capacity of around 104kg. The kickstand means you can park it without leaning it against anything, and it comes with a foot pump and a decent lock with two keys included, so you've got the basics covered from day one. Condition-wise, this one shows its age with some scuffs and wear marks, but nothing that affects how it rides.
