Airnimal Chameleon Handbuilt Folding Road Bike 27 Spd Ultegra Dura Ace 24” Wheel
The Airnimal Chameleon is a handbuilt folding bike made in Cambridge that genuinely rides like a proper road bike rather than a compact compromise. Unlike some folders that feel compromised by their design, the Chameleon uses a 24-inch wheel size and stiff aluminium frame with carbon front forks to deliver the handling and responsiveness you'd expect from a full-size bike. The rear suspension bung absorbs road vibration and bumps, which makes a real difference over longer distances and rougher surfaces. This is a folding bike designed around the riding experience first, not just portability.
This particular example is the Elite model, equipped with a 27-speed drivetrain using a Shimano Ultegra triple chainset paired with a Deore XT long cage rear mech. The shifters are Ultegra STi units, whilst the stopping power comes from Dura Ace brake calipers. Beyond the drivetrain, the build quality extends throughout: Specialized Pro bars, Cinelli Pista stem, Alpina seatpost, Charge saddle, and MKS quick release pedals all feature as standard. The wheels are freshly built with Dura Ace hubs laced with Sapin spokes to Alexrims R390 rims and fitted with Panaracer Passela 24 x 1-inch tyres.
The bike arrives in excellent condition with immaculate paintwork and no dents or damage. Frame saver tape has been applied from new to the areas where mudguards clamp, so there are no wear marks in those places. All components function as they should with nothing loose, worn, or requiring repair in the foreseeable future. The Chameleon comes with practical accessories including detachable race blade mudguards, a pro bottle cage, a fit tool kit, spare wheel spokes, and a LED light set for all-weather riding.
The bike is currently set up for a rider around 5'11" to 6' tall, though there's scope to accommodate shorter riders or provide additional room for taller ones. This is a machine aimed at serious cyclists who want a folder that handles like a real road bike, climbs well, and holds its own in agile riding. The handbuilt frame and componentry reflect the engineering behind Airnimal's reputation for quality compact bikes.
