Vintage Original Low Mileage Brompton C Line 5 Gear 1988 T5M and Storage Bag

This is an original vintage low mileage Brompton Model T5 C Line folding bike verified by Brompton as built in1988 and purchased by me then, it features a mid handlebar, 5 gears, and a steel frame. 

With 16-inch tubular tyres and caliper brakes, it is designed for adults looking for a reliable and stylish option for their cycling needs. 

The Sturmey Archer thumb shifters and hub gears make for easy gear changes, while the classic black colour adds a touch of retro charm to this timeless bike.

I bought the bike new in 1988 from Bristows of Orton Waterville, Peterborough.. It has had minimal use and has been in storage, not used, for the last 25 years! The bike was stored folded, and folds and unfolds easily.

The bike with all fittings, wheels, tyres, saddle, gear shifters, brakes, chain, dynamo etc are original.

Saddle is a Selle Royal Pullman

Cranks are Solida

Gear shifters are Sturmey Archer

Hub Gear is Sturmey Archer 88-9 5 Speed SS-2

Wheels are Rigida Superchromix 16 x 1 3/8

Tyres are Raleigh Record 37 - 349, inflated with no splits, cracks and not perished.

Brakes are side pull calipers still with original blocks.

Pedals are 1 Strada fixed and 1 Folding Pedal.

Dynamo is marked "Subit 17"

Seat Post is as standard at the time of purchase.

Handle Bar is M/Mid type and has an added Brompton central aluminium support and original grips.

The bike was as standard supply at the time of purchase, with the addition of mudguards, 1 folding pedal, saddle bag, chrome roller rack with bungee straps, dynamo and lights, and a bike storage/carry bag.It was a "top of the range" model at the time of purchase.

This item has been previously used. The item has some signs of age related wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. The bike still has all its' original parts. The wheel rims and mudguard brackets show signs of surface rust. One of the rear rollers is very worn, and the frame has some storage marks, scrapes, blemishes and some rust in places, particularly on the triangular part of the frame, caused by clashing with the incorrect folding of the pedal.
