{"product_id":"vintage-bickerton-folding-bike-1","title":"Vintage Bickerton Folding Bike","description":"\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe original “bike in a bag” from the 1970’s although this\nis one of the later models from 1989\/1990 called the “Bickerton Classic”.  Upgrades were made over the production run so\nthis one has an improved main folding hinge, a metal headset, and a cross bar\non the handlebars.  These make it a\nlittle less flexible to ride although it does still flex.  Confidence does grow once you get used to it\nand there are 3 Sturmey Archer hub gears to get you up most but the steepest of\nhills.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eIt gets attention where ever it goes.  The little wheels and the “chopper” style\nhandlebars draw attention and comments such as “Wow, that’s a sick bike” from\nschool children; I think it means they like it\u003cspan style='font-family:\"Segoe UI Emoji\",sans-serif;\nmso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-font-family:\nCalibri;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-char-type:symbol-ext;mso-symbol-font-family:\n\"Segoe UI Emoji\"'\u003e😊\u003c\/span\u003e.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e After purchasing it a\nfew years ago I pimped it doing the following:-  \u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e1) Fitted some original Mk1 retro chrome mudguards removing\nthe plastic ones the later models had.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e2) Covered the main\nbody in army green car wrap \u0026amp; inspired by the original production transfers\napplied “Bickerton” wording and a Union Jack flag. \u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e3) Fitted new Jagwire gear and brake cables in white.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e4) Fitted new quick release MKS removeable pedals.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e5) Fitted a new retro looking Brev.M saddle (I’ll include\nthe original saddle too).\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e6) Made and fitted leather hand grips with cork end stops\nand leather cable retainers.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e7) Fitted a chrome bell, new chain and new tyres.\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e8) Hand made a green canvas carry bag (original blue one\nincluded too).  NB: The green one is\nwaxed canvas.
