This Stowaway has been stripped back to basics to achieve maximum simplicity and trouble-free use. The result is, I believe, aesthetically pleasing and a machine equally at home on the road, canal towpath or reasonable forest tracks.
Original components consist of frame and forks, crankset, bearings, seat post, stem and handlebars. Replaced components comprise brand new Weinmann aluminium wheels fitted with a rear coaster brake and single speed transmission, brand new Panaracer HP406 20 x 1.75 inch tyres, brand new chain, brand new front caliper brake with lever and new cable, new bar grips, folding pedals and bell.
The Stowaway folds in the middle - small enough to fit into the average car. It was never conceived, however, to provide “multimodal” transport à la Brompton!
