Overview

For sale is my genuine Brompton Electric 2-Speed folding bicycle in gloss white. It features Brompton's legendary compact folding design and premium build quality and comes complete with the original Brompton Electric battery, official Brompton Essential Battery Bag, original charger and two cycle helmets.

PLEASE NOTE: This bike is being sold under "For parts or not working" due to a battery issue. Please read the description carefully before purchasing. The hub and everything else is working perfectly.

Important Condition & Battery Details

The Battery

The battery was working when I purchased the bike. It now appears to accept a charge, as the blue indicator lights illuminate when connected to the charger, but it no longer powers the bike when connected to the frame. It was working before and I can say the battery gives amazing power assistance as you cycle.. Very hard to go back to a 'normal bike'.

For this reason, the battery should be regarded as faulty/not working.

I have not investigated the fault further. The battery may be repairable by a specialist, or you may simply choose to purchase a replacement battery. This has been reflected in the asking price.

The Bike

Mechanically, the bike is in good used condition. The folding mechanism, frame, brakes, gears and tyres are all in good working order.

I still use the bike regularly for commuting as a standard non-electric Brompton, and it rides and folds exactly as it should. The only known fault is that the battery no longer provides electric assistance.

This makes it an excellent opportunity for someone who already owns a compatible Brompton Electric battery, can source one, or wishes to repair or refurbish the existing battery.

Cosmetic Condition

Good used condition with the usual light marks and signs of use expected from a pre-owned bicycle. Overall it presents very well. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

If you're looking at this listing, you'll already know that Brompton bikes hold their value extremely well, with many standard non-electric models selling for £500–£700 or more, depending on age and condition.

This is a genuine Brompton Electric 2-Speed, making it an excellent project for the right buyer. Just source a battery and you have an electric Brompton. It took my a long while to get a Brompton and I wanted this spec as I'm sure you do too. Just do it.
