BRITISH DESIGNED MEZZO D9 FOLDING BIKE

Designed by Jon Whyte, a former Formula 1 suspension designer, who eventually moved into bike design, setting up his own company, Whyte Bikes.

This bike maintains excellent integral strength and stability because there is no hinge in the main frame of the bike (unlike most other folding bikes). This gives a sportier, stiffer and faster feel.

Here is an extract from the original 2009 review in 'Bike Radar':

"While the D9 doesn't fold quite as small as a Brompton (690x685x360mm to the Brompton's 550x580x280mm) it is significantly better to ride. Handling is crisp and predictable, the tiller-like steering common to many small wheeled folders, mitigated by the cantilevered steering column that puts the handlebars well forward of the fork steerer thus giving a welcome dose of under-steer. 

Not only is the D9 very efficient at getting your power to the back wheel it also gives you the means to produce an ample amount courtesy of a 52-tooth Truvativ front chainring matched up to SRAM's 11-26 PG-950 cassette giving a versatile range of gears." 


It folds easily and simply in approx 1 minute, with the handlebars folding down and both wheels folding under itself. It sits on its own luggage rack when folded, which has 2 small guide wheels.

This bike has only had very light use. We bought two of them new in 2014 and they have been out and about on motorhoming holidays in the summer months, so they have only had a total of 4 months' use on roads and cycle tracks.

The bike is in absolutely excellent condition, as seen in the pics.
