L@@K… Brompton C-Line 6 Speed Low Handlebar Rare Clear Lacquer Finish - New :)

This is an unused Brompton C-Line folding bike with 6-speed hub gears and low handlebars, finished in a distinctive clear lacquer that reveals the beautiful steel frame brazing underneath. The bike was ordered in May 2019 as a bespoke build—the clear lacquer finish meant a five-week wait for collection—but the original owner's job change meant it never got ridden. It's been stored indoors throughout, kept folded under a Brompton cover, so it remains in unused condition.

The steel frame is hand-brazed in the traditional Brompton way, with the frame polished and sealed under that clear powder coat. The bike comes fitted with mudguards and includes a pump. The 16-inch wheels and low-slung handlebars are suited to urban riding and commuting, whilst the 6-speed hub gears handle a reasonable range of terrain without the maintenance needs of a derailleur system. The side-pull caliper brakes are responsive and straightforward to service.

As a folding bike, it folds down to Brompton's compact dimensions, making it practical for mixing cycling with train travel or storage in tight spaces. The clear lacquer finish is particularly striking because it lets you see the quality of the frame construction—the brazing work and polished steel—rather than hiding it under solid paint. This is genuinely rare in the Brompton catalogue and was a special order when new.
