EO Volt Morning

The EO Volt Morning is a compact folding bike designed for urban commuting and mixed-mode transport, where you need something small enough to carry onto trains, trams, or into your office but capable enough to actually enjoy riding. This is the 2025 version 3, which brings several refinements to an already capable platform aimed at city riders who value portability without sacrificing practicality.

At just 16.5kg including the battery, the Morning is light enough to manage on stairs or into a train carriage, yet the 16-inch aluminium frame and small wheels combine to create a remarkably nimble ride around town. The 250W motor gives the bike a responsive, nippy feel rather than overpowering effort, which suits the short, stop-start nature of urban cycling. Folded down, the bike takes up less than one square metre of space, making it genuinely portable—comparable in practicality to a large suitcase, which means it stows easily under your desk, in a motorhome, or tucked away at home without dominating the hallway.

What sets the 2025 version apart is the shift to a torque sensor for motor assistance. Rather than delivering a flat level of power, the torque sensor reads how hard you're pedalling and adjusts support accordingly. This means the motor gives you help exactly when you need it, particularly useful on flatter routes where you're not pushing hard, and the system works more efficiently with the battery as a result. You get a more natural, intuitive ride feel compared to older cadence-based systems that simply turn on at a set pedal speed regardless of actual effort.

The hardware has been upgraded too. Shimano MT-100 hydraulic disc brakes deliver reliable stopping power in all conditions, and Schwalbe Pick Up tyres have six layers of puncture protection built in—practical for urban riding where broken glass and thorns are genuine hazards. The folding mechanism is more refined this time around with a central locking arm that uses a single-step locking action, and the fold-and-go bracket design is borrowed from EO Volt's pro range, so the fold becomes intuitive rather than fiddly. Four gears from a derailleur system handle typical city terrain without adding weight or complexity.

A rear rack comes fitted as standard, useful for a small bag or groceries, and the compact wheelbase means the bike handles tightly in traffic and feels fun to ride rather than a compromise. This unit is an ex-demonstration model with approximately 400 miles on the odometer and some minor cosmetic marks; all bikes have been checked by a qualified mechanic before dispatch. The bike comes with a full 12-month warranty covering all electrical components.
