FRAME AND FINISH

Turkish Blue + Black Edition - Turkish Blue is one of Brompton's most sought-after frame colours: a rich teal-blue powder-coated main frame and fork. The Black Edition specification replaces all the silver/chrome hardware found on a standard Brompton - rims, spokes, hubs, handlebar, seat post, cranks, chainset, pedals, mudguards, brakes, and other fittings - with black-anodised or black-finished equivalents. The result is a visually striking, unified look against the coloured frame. Braking surfaces on the rims remain silver for performance.

Frame number 711158 is stamped on the frame and clearly visible in photos - useful for registration and confirming authenticity.

GEARING - 6-SPEED (BWR HUB + DERAILLEUR)

The Brompton 6-speed system is the widest standard gearing Brompton offers, and this bike has it. A Brompton Wide Range (BWR) Sturmey-Archer 3-speed internally geared rear hub is combined with a Brompton 2-speed rear derailleur (two sprockets plus chain tensioner), giving six distinct, usable gear ratios. The right lever (3 positions) controls the hub gear; the left lever (2 positions) controls the derailleur step. The range is wide enough for loaded commuting on hilly terrain as well as fast flat riding - significantly more versatile than the standard 2-speed or 3-speed setups.

HANDLEBARS - M-TYPE (MID-RISE)

Brompton M-type handlebars - the mid-rise "city" bar that gives a comfortable, upright riding position. Well suited to commuting, urban riding, and mixed terrain. Good visibility in traffic and a natural choice for day-to-day use.

REAR SUSPENSION - UPGRADED 3-LAYER SPRING BLOCK

Bromptons use a suspension block at the pivot between the main frame and the rear triangle (above the rear wheel) as their only rear bump absorption - there is no sprung front fork. This bike has an aftermarket 3-layer spring suspension block made to fit the Brompton rear pivot, replacing the default rubber elastomer block that comes on standard Bromptons.

The three-layer spring stack gives progressive spring action with far more useful travel and genuine bump compliance than the stock rubber block. It makes a noticeable, practical difference to comfort over rough tarmac, cobbles, and dropped kerbs - significantly better than the standard setup while remaining entirely compact and compatible with normal Brompton folding.

WHEELS, TYRES AND DYNAMO LIGHTING

Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres - a performance-leaning commuter tyre from Schwalbe's trusted Marathon family. Puncture-resistant construction and a reflective sidewall stripe for side visibility in low light.

Hub dynamo (front wheel) - a dynamo hub built into the front wheel generates power while riding, feeding both the front headlight and rear light. No batteries needed for either dynamo light while in motion.

Busch & Muller Lumotec LED headlight - dynamo-powered front LED from Busch & Muller's Lumotec range, a well-regarded German lighting brand used extensively on quality commuter bikes. Wired directly to the hub dynamo.

Dynamo-wired rear LED - matched rear LED on the same dynamo circuit, so front and rear run together automatically.

Upgraded rear roller wheels (Easy Wheel-type) - larger-diameter rear rollers fitted at the base of the rear triangle. When the Brompton is folded, these rollers let you tow the bike along the ground rather than carrying it. The larger diameter rolls more smoothly over uneven surfaces, kerb edges, and station floors than the smallest stock rollers.

PRACTICALITIES

Full mudguards - Brompton full-length front and rear mudguards with stays and flaps. Keeps spray off you and the bike. Essential for year-round commuting in British weather.

Extended seat post - the longer Brompton extended post (not the short standard post) provides a wider range of saddle height adjustment, accommodating taller riders or those who prefer more leg extension.

Folding left pedal - the left pedal folds flat, keeping the folded package narrower for storage, train travel, and tight spaces. Standard Brompton design; right pedal is fixed.

Front carrier block - the Brompton front carrier block is fitted to the head tube, allowing any compatible Brompton front bag to click securely into place. The frame sticker shows the max load rating (see photos). No bag is included in this sale.
