Brompton M6L-X Titanium C Line 6 Speed Hardly Used Test Ridden Only
This is a second-generation Brompton M6L-X, a British-made steel folding bike built in February 2012 and barely ridden since. It's finished in satin black and weighs approximately 10.8kg, making it one of the lighter Bromptons you'll find. The titanium specification sets this model apart from standard steel versions – the frame, front forks, rear triangle, and various stay components all use titanium rather than steel, which accounts for the weight saving. The folding pedal bolt is titanium too, along with the mudguard stays, details that add up across the whole bike.
The M6L-X runs a 6-speed hub gear system with a standard 50T chainring, equivalent to a P line model. It's fitted with a Fizik Vitesse HP saddle as original specification, and a superlight front wheel sits at the front. The 16-inch wheels and compact lateral fold mean this bike packs down small enough to store under a desk or carry onto public transport, typical of what makes Brompton folding bikes practical for urban commuting and mixed-use riding.
Condition-wise, this is genuinely excellent. The silver wheel rims show almost no wear, and the brake pads are in the same order. There are only light marks scattered across the main crossbar and handlebar stem – the sort of cosmetic marks you'd expect from storage over a decade rather than hard use. All the hinge mechanisms, gears, and mechanics have been checked over and adjusted where necessary, so everything works as it should. The brakes are caliper-type side pull, straightforward to maintain and effective in everyday riding.
This particular bike has been test-ridden only, making it a rare find in the used market, especially with the titanium specification intact. Most Brompton owners will immediately recognise why that matters – titanium versions command a significant premium when bought new. For anyone looking at a lightweight, genuinely practical folding bike with quality components and verifiable history, this is worth considering carefully.
