Many Brompton enthusiasts actually find this adds character and gives the bike a more rugged appearance. The rust is only superficial – the steel underneath remains solid and healthy. It could easily be sanded back and refinished if desired, but I have chosen to leave it as it is.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMechanically, the bike rides beautifully. It has been thoroughly cleaned, degreased, lubricated and adjusted, and is ready to ride. An absolute pleasure to use.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bike is fitted with a brand-new saddle and new grips.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUnfortunately, the original model\/serial number sticker is missing. However, the frame number is clearly visible, and the bike is registered with BikeRegister using the permanent frame marking. The bike is not reported as stolen and is currently registered in ownership.
