Brompton M2L-X Superlight Raw Titanium Ti / P Line Folding Bicycle - Hardly Used
This is a first-generation Brompton M2L-X folding bicycle in raw laquer finish, a rarely seen model that's been hardly used and kept in excellent condition throughout. It's a British-made steel frame with a compact fold, and this example retains most of the original titanium specification, which is what sets it apart from the standard steel version. Weighing around 10.2kg as it sits, it's typical for a Brompton M-line with two-speed gearing, making it manageable to carry and store when you need to fold it away.
The raw steel frame carries its original decals and shows only light marks with no rust, which speaks to how it's been stored folded indoors from new. There's some minor discolouration to the raw finish, which is expected with age and storage, but structurally the frame is sound. The titanium mudguard stays front and rear have only light marks from light use, and the original Brompton saddle shows some surface wear on the rear edges but remains perfectly functional and unsplit. All the hinge mechanisms and working parts are in perfect order with hardly any significant wear, which you'd expect from a low-mileage example.
The bike has been fully checked over and adjusted for the new owner. It rolls on a brand new set of Innova Tanwall tyres with Marathon Racer-type tread, fitted to a superlight front wheel with skewer. The chain is brand new with a quick link, and the grips have been upgraded to Ergon GA3 large handles. The bike also features lightweight frame clamp handles and lightweight trolley wheels with rubber, along with a later-version Brompton suspension block. The wheel rims show hardly any wear, and the brake pads are in excellent condition. A luggage block is fitted to the frame, which is useful for carrying small loads on daily rides.
Day to day, this folding bicycle handles the stop-start rhythm of urban commuting well. The two-speed hub keeps things simple for maintenance, and the 16-inch wheels make it nimble in traffic while contributing to the tight fold that's central to why people choose Bromptons. The upright riding position gives good visibility, and the integrated mudguards mean you're ready for all-weather use. The fold becomes second nature after a few attempts, and the whole package fits easily under a desk or into a train luggage rack.
This bike suits commuters who regularly mix cycling with public transport, or anyone who needs a bike that can be stored in a small space. For short urban journeys and portability, it's a proven design that's been refined over decades. The titanium specification on this example makes it a genuinely rare find in the secondhand Brompton market, and the careful storage and minimal use means you're getting a bike that still has plenty of life ahead.
