Brompton Folding Bike – 3 Speed (M-Type) – Red – Compact Commuter

This is a genuine Brompton folding bike in classic red, a British-made steel frame built for commuting, travel, and compact storage. The M-type handlebars sit you upright for a comfortable riding position, and the 3-speed Sturmey Archer hub gears keep things simple and reliable without the fuss of derailleur maintenance. The 16-inch wheels fold the bike down to something genuinely small enough for car boots, train luggage racks, or tucking behind a door at home.

The bike comes fitted with mudguards as standard, which means you're not getting soaked on wet commutes, and the rear wheels with rollers make it easy to move around when it's folded up. The steel frame is typical Brompton – solid and dependable – and this one is in good used condition. It rides well and is mechanically sound, with some cosmetic wear that comes with age but nothing that affects how it performs. Everything is original Brompton components, so there's no mixing and matching of parts.

At its core, this is the kind of folding bike that suits people who mix cycling with public transport, or anyone who needs a bike that doesn't demand dedicated storage space. The upright geometry works well for urban stop-start riding, and once you've folded it a few times, the process becomes second nature. The 3-speed gearing is perfectly adequate for flat city routes and gentle hills, though it won't help much if you're tackling steep gradients regularly. This bike is collection only from Chelmsford, CM3.
