Brompton folding Battery Bike
£1,281.70 GBP
This is a Brompton folding bike fitted with a battery, built on the brand's proven steel frame and compact fold design. It's a British-made machine designed for urban commuting and regular city use where portability and practicality matter. The 16-inch wheels keep the bike nimble in traffic and contribute to its ability to fold down small enough to store in a flat, office, or carry onto public transport.
The bike runs caliper brakes and hub gears, which means minimal maintenance and reliable stopping power in daily conditions. The hub gear system works well for typical city riding with moderate hills, and the side-pull caliper brakes are straightforward and predictable. The frame is steel, giving it durability and a solid feel underfoot, though it does add weight compared to aluminium alternatives.
Condition-wise, this particular bike has a nearly new rear tyre and a new front tyre fitted, so the rubber is in good shape and ready for immediate use. The colour is black, which is typical Brompton specification. Since this is collection only, you'll want to test the fold mechanism and take it for a short ride to get a feel for how it handles before committing. The battery integration means you get electric assistance for those commutes where a bit of extra push is welcome, particularly useful if you're carrying shopping or dealing with headwinds.
