Brompton C Line 6 Speed 2024 Mid Handlebar £1100

This is a 2024 Brompton C Line folding bike in lilac, fitted with 6-speed gearing and mid-range handlebars. The bike has seen a year of use and shows some light surface scratches, visible in the photos, but is otherwise in good condition. It's priced at £1100.

The frame is built from precision-drawn, heat-treated steel tubing with hand-brazed joints and selected auto-brazed connections, while the rear frame uses hand-brazed cold-formed micro-alloy steel. The fork is reinforced steel, also brazed, and the whole package folds down to Brompton's characteristic compact size. Both wheels use double-wall alloy rims with 28 spokes, and they're fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres in 349 x 35C—puncture-resistant rubber with reflective sidewalls that work well for commuting in all conditions. The tyres are wrapped by mudguards with rubberised flaps to keep spray off your clothes and drivetrain.

Gearing comes from a Brompton Wide ratio 3-speed internal hub paired with 2-speed external cogs (13 and 16 tooth), giving six usable gears across a 300 per cent range. The crankset is forged aluminium with a 50-tooth chainring and integrated chainguard, keeping your trousers safe from the chain. Trigger shifters control both the internal and external gears, while a 2-speed chain pusher and dedicated chain tensioner manage the mechanical demands of folding and unfolding. The pedals use Brompton's standard design—folding on the left, fixed on the right—which protects them when the bike is folded and makes mounting easier.

The handlebars are aluminium with a shot-peened finish for durability, paired with lock-on grips finished in soft-compound rubber. Braking is handled by Brompton's dual caliper rim brakes with matching levers. The saddle is Brompton's own design with an integrated carry handle (147mm deep) and mounts for a rear light and saddle bag. The seatpost is chromoly steel, chrome-plated, and arrives at standard length suitable for a maximum inside leg of 84cm (33 inches).
