Bike Friday - Folding Tandem

The Bike Friday folding tandem is a steel folding bike designed for two riders who need to travel compact. Unlike most tandems, this one breaks down for transport, with the frame coming apart easily enough to pack into two suitcases—genuinely useful if you're combining cycling with train travel or need to store it in a small space. The 20-inch wheels help keep the packed size manageable whilst still giving reasonable rolling efficiency for a compact bike.

It runs V-brake stopping power with a derailleur gear system, which keeps maintenance straightforward and gives you range across mixed terrain. The steel construction is solid and speaks to durability rather than chasing weight savings, which makes sense for a bike that needs to handle two people and still fold for transport. The low mileage on this example means the rim surfaces remain perfectly flat, a good sign the brakes are tracking well and everything is still running true.

For two riders sharing journeys where portability matters—whether that's combining cycling with train commutes, holiday touring, or simply needing something that doesn't dominate your storage—a folding tandem covers ground that regular bikes can't. The compact wheel size trades some cruising ease for the ability to pack it away, making it suited to people who value flexibility over long-distance comfort. A pump is included with the bike, and there's the option of London-area delivery for an additional fee.
