Bickerton Country Folding Bike with original carry bag made in 1988/89
This is a Bickerton Country folding bike from 1988/89, built during the final years of the original Bickerton factory. It comes with the original carry bag, a practical addition for urban riders who need to store the bike compact or take it on public transport. The aluminium frame folds down to a manageable size, and the 20-inch wheels combined with the compact design make it easy to manoeuvre through city streets and carry when folded. The bike runs a 6-speed Sachs Huret derailleur system, which gives enough range for varied terrain without adding complexity, and the solid, puncture-proof tyres mean you're not dealing with flats on your commute.
The bike is in used condition and has been ridden, so it would benefit from a service and a check over of the quick release mechanisms to tighten them up properly. This is straightforward work that comes with familiarising yourself with the bike anyway. The original carry bag can be attached to the handlebars for shopping trips, though it's worth remembering that loading it heavily does affect handling, so keep loads modest. The caliper side-pull brakes are simple and reliable, typical of bikes from this era and easy to maintain or adjust as needed.
Collection only from Farnborough in Hampshire, as the folded bike is too bulky to post. If you have any questions about the condition, components, or collection, it's worth asking before arranging to collect.
