Basis Compact 20 Folding Bike 20” Shimano 6 Speed Unused After Assembly

The Basis Compact 20 is a folding bike designed around practicality and everyday convenience. It's the sort of thing you buy to keep in the car for unexpected journeys or as genuine backup transport when you need something small and manageable. This one was bought for exactly that purpose—emergency trips to London—assembled and then stored unused in a car boot, which means it's effectively brand new despite being a few years old.

The frame is steel, which is straightforward and durable. It folds down for storage and transport, making it easy enough to stow in a car or carry when you need to. The 20-inch wheels are typical for folding bikes at this size, striking a reasonable balance between portability and ride feel. You get a rear luggage rack as standard, which is useful for carrying a bag or shopping, and mudguards front and rear keep your clothes clean when the weather turns wet. The riding position is adjustable, so you can dial it in to feel reasonably comfortable whether you're nipping around locally or covering a bit of distance.

The drivetrain is a Shimano 6-speed setup with derailleur gears and V-brakes, which is straightforward and reliable. Six speeds cover everyday riding well enough—enough range for gentle hills and urban cycling without becoming complicated to maintain. Everything is fully assembled and ready to ride straight away. The bike is in excellent condition with virtually no signs of use, and all the mechanics work as they should.

This is the kind of bike that suits someone after genuine emergency transport or backup mobility without fuss. Collection is preferred from Hook, Hampshire.
