This is how the Airnimal website describes the Joey

“The Joey is the complete all rounder. Sports rider, commuter, tourist or trail maker, the Joey can do it all

Unusually, the Joey is designed to work with 2 wheel sizes – fat profile for the city or trail, or narrow high pressure for ultimate speed. The Joey has two levels of fold. The first fold takes about 30 seconds and is ideal for commuting or transportation, and the second, a few minutes and is ideal for flying”

This bike has Kenda Small Block tyres suitable for city or trail, but I wouldn’t describe them as “fat”.

This is the third Joey I have owned.

Originally bought as a folding bike I could fit in the car with my grandchildren’s bikes, the first one had the narrow tyres so wasn’t suited to gravelly tracks. I replaced that with a 9 speed wider tyres model and discovered I liked to ride it over longer distances. My increasing decrepitude eventually meant I needed a wider range of gears, so bought this one with the Sram Dual Drive system; 9 speed derailleur coupled with a 3 speed hub. However, a Joey with a Rohloff hub came up on eBay, so this one has to go.

Over the last 12 months I have fitted new; tyres, chain, cassette, brake blocks and MKS GR9 pedals.

The paintwork is in relatively good condition for a bike that has lived the folding life, but does have light surface scuffing in some places, so do take a good look at the photos to satisfy yourself as to its condition. Particularly photo 12 which shows the worst scratch through the A in Airnimal, and photo 13 showing scuffs on the right hand side rear chain and seat stay.

Collect in person from Farnham Common between Beaconsfield and Slough. Alternatively, by prior arrangement, if you are travelling by train to collect I can meet you at Datchet (out of Waterloo), Gerrards Cross (from Marylebone) or Taplow (Elizabeth Line)
