2019 Brompton S2R Folding Bike Barely Used
£710.50 GBP
This is a 2019 Brompton S2R, a British-made steel folding bike that's barely been used. It was bought for flat terrain but saw minimal riding after a house move to hillier ground, then sat through the pandemic years. Everything remains original and unmodified, still running the 2-speed hub gears it left the factory with. The owner has confirmed it's ready for a test ride on collection, so you can check it over properly before committing.
The S2R uses Brompton's characteristic steel frame and 16-inch wheels, folding down to a compact size that fits easily into a bag or under a desk. With side-pull caliper brakes and hub gears for simplicity, it's straightforward to maintain and requires minimal fuss. The 2-speed setup keeps things lightweight and low-maintenance, though it's worth knowing the bike could be upgraded to 6-speed if you ever fancy more range for tackling hills. Being barely ridden means the frame and components are in the condition you'd expect from a bike that's spent most of its life indoors.
This is the kind of Brompton that makes sense if you're after a genuine spare bike, need a backup for occasional use, or want something to experiment with before committing to regular folding-bike ownership. The near-unused condition is a genuine advantage for anyone wanting a clean slate.
