20" 9-Speed Shimano Tri-Fold Brompton-Style Folding Bike | Rare find!

Selling my 20" folding bike bought as a Brompton alternative 1.5 years ago, and honestly couldn't be happier with it. Only reason I'm selling is that my work commute has changed, and so don't need it anymore.

If you know Bromptons, you'll know the appeal. If you don't, these are the folding bikes you see commuters rolling through tube stations and tucking under office desks. The Brompton is the gold standard, but at £1,600+ new, it's a lot of money for a 16" wheel and 3-6 speeds. This has 20" wheels and 9 speeds, and costs a fraction of the price.

The upgrades over a standard Brompton:

The wheels are bigger; 20" versus Brompton's 16". This makes a real difference on the road. More speed, more stability, less getting bounced around on rough tarmac. The gearing is a proper 9-speed Shimano setup rather than the basic 3-6-speed most Bromptons come with, so you've got real range for hills and headwinds. I've also fitted upgraded Eazy Wheels (better than Brompton's version) and 360° coaster wheels, which means the folded bike rolls smoothly in any direction rather than just straight backwards and forwards. Brompton owners routinely spend £40–80 fitting these as an aftermarket upgrade.

It folds quickly and compactly via the same tri-fold mechanism as a Brompton. Frame is molybdenum steel, which is very strong and light.

How it rides:

Genuinely well. Gears change cleanly across all 9 speeds, brakes are firm and responsive, no creaks or clicks anywhere. Chain has been recently lubed. Tyres are KENDA 20×1.35, good tread remaining, no damage. No rust anywhere on the bike. It's done about 500 miles of light urban and leisure riding, and never thrashed!, always maintained. It'll ride away the same day you collect it.

Cosmetically:

There are some light surface scratches and scuffs on the frame — nothing dramatic, just normal marks from 500 miles of use and being a black bike. I've photographed everything honestly without any touches/edits, so please look through all the pictures before asking questions.

The bike, front and rear lights, bell, mudguards, kickstand, and the upgraded Eazy Wheels and coaster wheels already fitted. Nothing else needed; just collect and ride!
